Screening CT’s evaluate for the presence of tumors, aneurysms, coronary artery calcifications, polyps, as well as less serious findings such as kidney stones or arthritis. We do recommend intravenous contrast for certain exams. The examinations are very fast, taking between 10 and 30 minutes.

Calcium Scoring– EKG leads hooked up to the chest, like a normal EKG. The patient is placed into the scanner and an initial scan is taken to set up the machine. A scan is taken through the heart to evaluate for calcium deposits in the arteries around the heart. No contrast is needed for the exam.

Virtual Lung Scan– A quick non-invasive scan of the lungs to screen for lung cancer. A scan is taken of the chest; no contrast is needed for the exam.
